Come and enjoy a writing workshop with your community and peers! Explore new styles and strategies of writing with instructor Emma Faesi Hudelson and create an essay of your own.
Playing with form can unlock new truths in content. A Hermit Crab essay is a literary version of, well, a Hermit Crab. You use the format of one type of writing to present the content of another. For example, an essay might be a Law and Order script, a bibliography, or a crossword puzzle. This workshop will include examples and prompts, and writers will leave with the start of their own hermit crab essay.

The 20,000-square-foot Michigan Road Branch provides greater access to Library services and collections, engaging spaces for children, teens and adults, more computers, and a large community room. The branch opened in December 2018.
