Join Dr. Jarrod Dortch on-site at a garden to learn a bit more about which plants grow well with other plants (and which plants to keep away from each other).
If you'd like to know more about Solful Gardens, check out their website or find them on instagram as @solfulgardens.
Note: This program is happening away from the branch at 1165 Nelson Avenue. In the event of inclement weather, the class will happen at Garfield Park Branch Library.
In the meanwhile, check out this list of books about companion planting!

What was known as the Shelby Branch began in 1918 when the library was housed in old School No. 34. A new branch was constructed in 1965 at the current Shelby Street location. Following a major renovation, the branch reopened in 2011 as the Garfield Park Branch, reflecting the desire of residents to refer to the branch by their beloved and adjacent Garfield Park.
