The Central African Festival will highlight Central African countries from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Rwanda, and Burundi.

Highlighting Central Africa is significant to the City of Indianapolis as we have a growing population of Central African immigrants, especially from the DRC, due to displacement. This event will benefit all Marion County residents by sharing Central African culture through music, dance, and crafts, as well as stories from our Central African neighbors who now call Indianapolis home. This time together will provide an opportunity for local support agencies to share their services.

The event will be held in the Clowes Auditorium and the Riley Room at Central Library.

About the branch

As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
