This event is a celebration of life and accomplishment for women in the Indianapolis community. It will acknowledge community leaders who are not recognized for their hard work and dedication to community outreach and providing literacy.
Hosted by Tony Styxx and featuring a special tribute to Anitra Malone, there will be 3 top awards and 12 regular awardees. Guest Speaker Danielle Norris will provide tips on stroke awareness and keeping healthy. The event will feature harpist Stephanie Hall, a poetry reading, appetizers from Gabys CBD Catering, soloist Jamie Bivens, and a solo dance from Vae Savage.
As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
