10:45 - 11:45 a.m. Demystifying Trademarks- Describes trademarks, the benefits of federal trademark registrations, and the registration process
11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. Lunch (On your own) & Networking Session- Lunch on your own, and if you finish lunch early, you can network with other attendees and presenters in the Riley Room at Central Library
1:15 - 2:15 p.m. Demystifying the Patent Process- Review the patent process from invention to issue, discuss the requirements for patentability, and explanations as to whether a provisional or nonprovisional application is right for you
2:15 - 3:15 p.m. Panel Discussion on Developing and Protecting your IP- Ask questions and listen to panel discussion participants from the USPTO and The Indianapolis Public Library
Registration is required for the program, and registration can be for either part of the day or the entire program. Attendees can register for the program through Eventbrite. The program is free and open to the public, but space is limited. A special thanks goes to the Indianapolis Recorder for their work in promoting patent and trademark resources available from the library and the USPTO.
As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
