This 6th anniversary event is a celebration of the accomplishments of the Center for Black Literature & Culture at Central Library.
The CBLC 6th anniversary is a celebration of the accomplishments of the Center for Black Literature & Culture. The CBLC remains a place for all to learn about those of the African Diaspora, and for those of African roots to see themselves reflected in powerful and positive ways. This year’s event will include:
- performance from Sapphire Theater Co.
- spoken word performance from CBLC Poet Laureate Januarie York
- panel discussion on women's culture as it pertains to health & wellness, entrepreneurship, and community
- DJ IN4RED
- 360 photobooth
Central Library
As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
