Families with young children with sensory sensitivity are invited to arrive early for the Día del Niño celebration. Activities include storytime art activities, resource fair, and an appearance by Daniel Tiger and Katarina Kitty cat from PBS Kids. Free books and giveaways for every child!
Other featured activities include The Teddy Bear Concert Series presented by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra at 11:00 a.m., a performance by Payaso Pastelito at noon, and a concert by Grammy-nominated artist José-Luis Orozco at 1:00pm.
Día del Niño at Be My Neighbor Day is sponsored by the Indiana Educational Saving Authority and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation. Contributing partners are WFYI, Childcare Answers, Reach Out and Read Indiana, and the Indiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
