Shooter: Combat from Behind the Camera with Stacy Pearsall

This program, to be held in Central Library's Clowes Auditorium, is presented by Roberts Camera, Nikon and the Library.

Hear the story of independent photographer, author and military consultant Stacy Pearsall, a Bronze Star Medalist whose path to recovery from combat injuries in Iraq led to a new life mission, the Veterans Portrait Project. She'll relate the stories of soldiers she's documented through photography.

Pearsall is the author of "Shooter: Combat from Behind the Camera" and "A Photojournalist's Field Guide: In the Trenches with Stacy Pearsall," both of which have earned international acclaim. She is one of three women to win the National Press Photographers Association's Military Photographer of the Year competition, and the first woman to earn it twice. About the branch

As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
