Grand Master Simultaneous Chess Exhibition
GM Semen Khanin plays chess against 30 people! At the same time!!

Local chess Grand Master Semen Khanin will play the first 30 people that register online. This simultaneous exhibition is free and open to everyone. The public is encouraged to watch or participate.
30 player simul will include the first 30 to register online. No shows will be replaced from a waiting list. First come first day of event for any remaining openings. GM Khanin will orbit the playing area making moves one board at a time. Participants are required to have their move ready when GM Khanin reaches their chess board. Failure to make a move on time may result in a loss.
The Grand Master Simultaneous Chess Exhibition will take place during Chess Day at Central Library July 25. Free rated and unrated tournaments will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. First 50 players to sign in on day of tournament receive a free Books & Rooks t-shirt. Learn more about the Day of Chess.
Central Library
As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
