Get Dirty with Solful Gardens (Gardening 101: Getting Started this Summer)
An Intro to Gardening Workshop
Wednesday, June 17
4:00pm - 5:00pm
Join Dr. Jarrod Dortch of Solful Gardens to get ready to "play" in your garden! Today's main topic is basic tools, soil, sunlight, watering, what to plant in June, and how to start even without much experience.
Spend some time with this year's Adult Summer Reading Program theme during this program that encourages you to play in your garden!
Join Dr. Jarrod Dortch of Solful Gardens to learn about ways you can play in the dirt. Grow your joy while also growing flowers, herbs, and veggies in a small amount of space! A 5-gallon bucket can be used to simply garden, especially for people without access to raised beds or in-ground garden space.
Get ready or follow up by learning from one of these book lists:

Martindale-Brightwood Branch
The Brightwood Branch opened in 1901 as the sixth public library in Indianapolis. It served the Brightwood community at several locations along Station Street, one street west of its current North Sherman Avenue storefront site which opened in 1972. A 1996 renovation at this location doubled the size of the branch to 5,400 square feet. In 2020, a brand-new branch building, across the street from the previous branch, was completed and re-named as the Martindale-Brightwood Branch.
