Central Library

Makerspace

Adults with little or no experience playing an instrument are invited to receive two free ukulele lessons.

Join us for Week one of this two week-series! Library staff will teach you the parts of the ukulele, how to tune and care for your instrument, your first strumming pattern, 4 chords, and finally, we will bring everything together to learn a complete song. We will provide instruments to use during the program.

Week 1:  Ukulele basics

We will show you the history of the ukulele, its parts, how to tune and care for your instrument, your first chords, and a basic strumming pattern.

Week 2: Making Music

This session will build on what we learned in week 1. We will add two more chords to your repertoire, then bring it all together to learn your first full song.

We have instruments that you can borrow during the program, but you are welcome to bring your own. (Soprano or Concert Ukuleles only)

This program will take place in the Makerspace on the first floor of Central Library.
