Connect by listening to stories on how immigrants have come to call Indiana "home". Join us in the Clowes Auditorium at the Central Library.

This is a recurring storytelling series designed to bring together immigrants in Indiana. The aim is for participants to share personal stories from their home countries and explore how these experiences contribute to building their lives in Indiana.

The series is inspired by "Ogbaniko" which is the Igala word for the Doodlebug, an insect that is known for walking backwards. It is a metaphor for reflecting on past experiences and using those reflections to build a better future.

About the branch

As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
