Join us for this 3 session series of engaging two-hour workshops that go beyond typical career advice to help you chart a meaningful and fulfilling professional path.

In these interactive sessions you'll discover how to align your career with authority, overcome professional obstacles, and create an actionable plan for success. Whether you're seeking a career change, hoping to advance in your current role, or simply wanting to gain clarity about your professional direction, this workshop provides the tools and insights you need.

What You'll Learn:

  • Uncover your core professional values and create a compelling career vision
  • Transform limiting beliefs into steppingstones for growth
  • Develop your authentic professional story
  • Create a practical action plan for achieving your career goals

This workshop is perfect for:

  • Professionals seeking career clarity and direction
  • Individuals contemplating a career transition
  • Early to mid-career professionals looking to advance
  • Anyone wanting to take a more strategic approach to their career development

Leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of your professional priorities
  • Practical tools for career decision-making
  • A personalized action plan
  • Strategies for professional growth
  • Resources for continued development

Module 1:  Plot Your Position (Saturday, September 6, 10:15 a.m.)

In this first module, you'll start with a quick assessment of where you are now, discover your core professional values, and craft a vision statement that will serve as your guiding light. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers here—only your truth.  You will chart a course forward, understanding exactly where you stand closing with the knowledge of what matters to you professionally. You'll take an honest look at your current career situation, and uncover the values that guide your professional decision.  Think of this as creating your career compass.

Module 2:  Chart Your Direction (Saturday, September 13, 10:15 a.m.)

Many of you may know where you want to go in your careers, but something holds you back. In this second module, you'll tackle those obstacles head-on. Often, your biggest career barriers aren't external—they're the limiting beliefs and the stories you tell yourselves about what's possible. You will work on transforming these limitations into steppingstones for growth. You'll learn how to reframe your professional story in a way that emphasizes your strengths and resilience, while also identifying strategic connections that can support your journey. This module is about clearing the path to your professional goals and building the confidence to pursue them.

Module 3: Design Your Course (Saturday, September 20, 10:15 a.m.)

In this final module, you're focusing on concrete steps to move you forward; therefore, you'll identify your natural leadership style and how to leverage it effectively. Then, you'll create a practical action plan that breaks down your career aspirations into manageable steps. Think of this module as creating your professional roadmap—complete with milestones, potential detours, and the resources you'll need along the way. By the end of this session, you'll walk away with a tangible plan to set and achieve your goals. Remember, even the longest career journeys begin with single steps, and you’ll be mapping out those crucial first moves.

About the branch

The Brightwood Branch opened in 1901 as the sixth public library in Indianapolis. It served the Brightwood community at several locations along Station Street, one street west of its current North Sherman Avenue storefront site which opened in 1972. A 1996 renovation at this location doubled the size of the branch to 5,400 square feet. In 2020, a brand-new branch building, across the street from the previous branch, was completed and re-named as the Martindale-Brightwood Branch.
