Children 3-6 are invited to a virtual Library visit! Join members of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for the story-concert, The Big Note, by Victoria Griswold.
Reading Ready Time is a virtual library experience specifically designed to help children 3-6 years old get ready to read and connect with the Library. Programs will be available for a limited time following the premiere on our YouTube channel.
A young boy’s searches through the instruments of the orchestra to find a big note he hears at a concert. Familiar works of Grieg, Saint-Saens, Beethoven, Bizet, and Sousa are performed as children are invited to move along with the music by making train wheels with their fists, butterflies with their fingers, and swaying back and forth like trees as they watch musicians perform.
Additional resources to enhance learning:
- Check out this great list of diverse books about music and instruments on our website.
- The Toronto Symphony Orchestra offers a great collection of videos integrating classical music and play.

This is not a real library branch - this is the "location" for our events that occur online. Online events that take place on Zoom should all involve registration and a link will be emailed to participants. Other online events may occur on YouTube or Facebook, and will not require registration.
